Steven R. Pottle: 

Steven Pottle is the founder of Haywood Dorland Energy Capital, a private equity and debt firm that invests in renewable energy companies and projects. He brings to Haywood Dorland more than 23 years of structured finance and investment banking experience within all sectors of the energy industry. He has held senior level energy positions at some of the world’s leading financial institutions, including:


  1. UBS - NY, Dallas & Los Angeles - Energy Banking (1985-1990)

  2. The Industrial Bank of Japan (1991-1995)

  3. Deutsche Bank Securities - Energy Investment Banking (1995 -1998)

  4. SIthe Energies - Power Trading and Corporate Finance (1998-2001)

  5. Commerzbank - Energy Project Finance (2001-2005)

  6. HSH Nordbank - Energy Structured Finance (2005 -2008)


Mr. Pottle also served as the Vice President of Business Planning at Sithe Energies, at one time the largest independent power producer in the United States. Sithe was a leader in developing hydroelectric power plants.


Mr. Pottle has participated in, structured and / or led hundreds of project and corporate energy transactions over the course of his career.  He has held a Series 7 Securities licenses during various parts of his career.


HDEC currently maintains strong relationships with a large network of professionals with corporate banking, investment banking and structured finance experience within the energy sector. These resources  can be drawn into transactions as needed over time.
